Winter In New England by Zack Wussow

Last November my wife Heather and I went up for a long weekend in Vermont to photograph a friend’s wedding. Emily and Ed’s wedding was held at the Stonewell Farm, an awesome event space/working farm/museum/nature center.

The day kicked off with a first look and posed photos with family. Then it was time for the main event.

A funny dad’s speech and first dance kicked off the reception.

Then the rest of the night was for dancing and celebration!

Misty Mountains by Zack Wussow

In October my wife Heather and I had the wonderful excuse of my friend Whitney’s wedding to take a road trip to beautiful, rural Virginia.

The wedding day started with getting ready - Heather took Kirk and his guys out for some posed photos, and unintentionally made Whitney cry!

The ceremony was outside, with the rain just barely holding off. The mist actually made the background that much more beautiful.

Posed photos were easy with this stunning couple and a such a beautiful backdrop.

The reception kicked off with the first dance, speeches, and a macaron birthday cake for Whitney’s sister.

Then it was time to party!

Finally, a dramatic exit showered by lavender!

Miami Maternity by Zack Wussow

I recently spent about a week in Miami visiting family, and I brought my camera, because I knew some of my extended family were expecting.

I met up with Victor and Joyce on a stretch of South Beach. As soon as a very, very small wedding cleared out, we had the beach mostly to ourselves despite the weather being beautiful. (By Connecticut standards of January, anyway...)

The rocky pier, smooth beach, and grassy dunes made for a beautiful backdrop, and the overcast sky produced a beautiful, soft light.

It was such a treat, and I'm glad that the timing of our trip worked out so perfectly.

Plus, since I had my camera handy, we took some family photos. The old ones were starting to show their age and embarrass the children, so... It was time.

Back in CT, and back to work!

Windy City Wedding by Zack Wussow

Caitlin and Jay are friends of mine from college. The day they announced their engagement, I told them I wanted to be their photographer, and thankfully they did too! It was amazing to see them on their special day, and a nice perk to get to visit Chicago.

After a quick stop at the Sheraton Grand, we moved to Salvage One, an amazing antiques store and venue. It really fit their style perfectly.

We started with a first look, then posed photos. This space is simply amazing for photos.

The ceremony was beautiful, with touching performances by some of their friends, and a fiery blessing of the rings.

After cocktail hour, they had their first dance: a choreographed number that Jay was practicing up till the last minute.

The rest of the night was amazing food (taco bar and pie bar!), fantastic music, and an amazing group of people celebrating the day to its fullest.

It was an amazing night, and I'm so glad Caitlin and Jay trusted us to capture their day.

Congratulations you two!
